So much more than a Shoe-box

There’ll be no more shoe-boxes for Interhope. We deeply appreciate the excellent message and ministry of our brother, Franklin Graham, and Samaritan’s Purse, however, we have well over 600 orphaned kids who need a great deal more than a Christmas box and they need it every day of the year. We participated in the program once and it ended up costing over $2000 in custom’s duties and fees. The happiness the kids felt lasted only a couple of days. Orphaned kids need three meals a day, school uniforms, medicine and medical care, loving caregivers, and a safe, peaceful home. None of these things can fit into a shoe-box. The children of Interhope receive special gifts for Christmas and birthdays.  A box of small gifts is a kind gesture, but woefully inadequate for those who understand the needs of orphaned children.

Our hearts are deeply grateful for the faithful supporters who reach out–often sacrificially– to provide the daily needs of abandoned and orphaned children. What an amazing, ongoing gift of love!
