A Dramatic Increase in the Price of Rice/Foods

Rice is the staple food for all of our Asian orphanages and in recent years the price has sky-rocketed. We are often asked about our greatest need at any given time. The answer to that question for most of 2012 has been: food. In September our stores of rice had dwindled to only 1 week’s supply. This is the first time in our history that stores have been so low. Other food prices are also going up. Our orphanages are at full capacity and we are scrambling to ensure that not a single child will ever have to skip a meal under our care. Thank you for feeding these hungry kids. The words of Christ from the 25th chapter of Matthew make reference to our rice supply problems: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…whatever you’ve done for one of the least of these… you have done it for me.”
