Rainforest Church

The tiny rain-forest church we planted as new missionaries to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the early 2000’s has just completed a new building. You might wonder why you received no appeal for funds related to this project. That’s because the church has reached full self-sufficiency due to the steady growth and determination of their congregation. Many of you provided financial and prayer support for this little church startup more than a decade ago. Those first converts from the remote rain-forest
communities on the slopes of Mt. Soufriere are now the leaders of this congregation. Many measurable positive results can be reported since the church’s founding, but the impact on marriage and babies born out of wedlock is one of the most impressive. Very high percentages of illegitimate births is a sign of profound dysfunction in a community.   About 90% of births in St. Vincent were out of wedlock in 1999. Today that number is less than 40% in this community and the presence of a family of faith, sharing the Gospel in countless ways is the reason. On a related note, the new building is already booked up, months in advance, for weddings! Thank you so much for reaching out through this mission. The Gospel works! Jesus lives! The Lord transforms and improves the lives of those who follow Him and we are deeply blessed to have this privilege of partnering with you in missional outreach.
