Did You Know: About Human Trafficking

  • Human trafficking is the illegal trade in human beings for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation or forced labor: a modern-day form of slavery.
  • Slaves are often brought to Cambodia from Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and China.
  • 93% of trafficked individuals came from families that owned a house without debt.
  • 47% stated that their mother was the facilitator of their enslavement.
  • Women and children are trafficked internally within Cambodia for sexual exploitation. They often believe they will be working as domestic servants.

Even secularists have been forced to admit that Christianity is the only observable force that can break this cycle. A fact attested to by both exploiters and exploited who have come to Christ and sought forgiveness and wholeness.

Human trafficking reminds us that we are in a real battle with evil. May God continue to give you and your extended ministry partners protection, wisdom, and strength as you fight on behalf of the helpless. Maranatha!
